Andrei is supposedly training in Novogorsk right now. I don't know if it is an organized training camp or he is there individually working (I seem to
recall some summer training in different cities in the past). No news on what music or programs are that I have seen, but I hope very much he is fully
recovered from the injury last season and is really able to fight for Olympic life this year!

It's a training camp, like usual. I still would like to know what he's doing there exactly, 'cause there's a bad news: Andrei is not on the
provisional national team list. That means chances are he won't get Cup of Russia, although there's one TBA spot. Of course, things can change, but I
don't actually remember changes to the team list being made mid-season.

Well....Cup of Russia is still a remote possibility (and maybe more of one, depending on what Plushenko really ends up doing). But there is the Russia Cup
series, and some "B" competitions maybe. Hopefully he'll get the chance to tune up a bit before Nationals and will just really be able to put it
all out there when it counts!

I do hope so, Kasey.

How about thoughts on music?? I would love to see him do something to blues, maybe in the short program. He did well with the Harlem Nocturne exhibition
number, it would be nice to see more like that.

I have not yet checked anythyng, but there is a word that, according to Tatiana Flade, Andrei has quit competitive skating and is going to continue skating in
shows.

Yes, that is what was printed in a German skating magazine, and I was trying to get clarification if it is true. He was in Novogorsk, which seemed to
contradict it, but maybe he was there for a show or vacation instead. If it's true, he'll be sadly missed competitively, but I hope we get the chance
to watch him blossom in show skating.

A journalist friend asked Tatjana about it and she said that the information came directly from Vodorezova.
It's true, I'm afraid. |

According to Andrei, he's "done with sport" and at this time has no interest even in shows or tours. He is apparently assisting at the CSKA rink
and studying coaching in the university.

Oh... that's interesting. Where did you get this information from? I mean, I would put a bit of information like that up on the site, but currently I have no means for checking it. :) It would be interesting to see Andrei become a coach.

Just Wishing Andrei The Best :) | ||
I just watched Andrei's Free Skate from Cup Of Russia from the year 2007. I thought he was an awesome skater, and then I kind of lost
track of his competitions because of the networks last year. I was a little sad hearing that he was no longer competing, I was wanting to watch him again.
However, I think he will be a wonderful coach , and I just wanted to wish him all of the best in his studies and as he coaches the new talent that will come
out of Russia. Maybe we will see him again with his skater in the Kiss and Cry , that will be cool .
All of the best to you, Andrei !
