First comp of the season and nationals, ufff, will be hard... But I hope he can do it and show his strength. My fingers are already crossed

It's not his first competition this season: he's already competed in Samara just before the injury (or with it already, I'm starting to suspect).
Anyway, he looked quite okay even before the Bompard, he's been training in peace - hopefully that means that he's ready. This Nationals might be his
last chance, so I'm crossing all the fingers everywhere, too.

Well, to think of it: Plushenko won't be at Nats. Lutai, A. Uspenski, Borodulin and even Voronov have been inconsistent and off their game a bit this
season. Haven't seen much or anything of V. Uspenski or Dobrin. I think a healthy and strong Andrei (provided he is at this point) has a great chance at
this Nationals, and I hope he rocks it!!

The problem is we don't know what condition he's actually in. Besides, we can pretty much expect a somewhat biased refereeing for Voronov unless he
falls apart completely. But then, nobody promised it would be easy.
I'm sure Andrei can do it.

It looks like coverage of the event starts on 12/25 at about 2:30pm on NTV+sports channel. They will be covering original dance, ladies SP and men's SP at
that time (no pairs, I guess they will be on Fri/Sun instead). The television schedule I have doesn't go through all of next week yet, so I don't know
when the LP will be shown.

Men's SP is Thursday, December 25 on 19:30 - 22:00 and Men's FS is Saturday, December 27 on 15:00 -
18:00
Both times are MSK, which is GMT +3 (if I'm not mistaken). P.S. - You girls are going to give me a heart attack one of these days. Each time I see that a new post has appeared I'm afraid to click the link and
read it for the fear of it being some bad news. Stupid, huh? I'm so nervous!

Zmeya! I understand, but I figure, no news is good news! I'm hoping he can go there, hit his jumps and programs as he is capable of, and shocking the
heck out of people!!
Thanks for the info on the FS, the guide thing I have doesn't go up through the weekend yet. Does pairs happen Fri/Sun? Or is Sunday just the gala? |

Zmeya |

Sunday is podium ceremony and gala. Pairs are scheduled on Friday and Saturday: 18:45-20:45 Fri and 18:15-20:30 Sat (right after the Men's FS). The
schedule is somewhat unusual this year, I must admit.

Yeah, after posting that, I thought, well, pairs are probably Fri/Sat! LOL
Can't work with fingers crossed, so will have to cross toes! |

Crossing toes is a good idea!
Crossing mine, too.

Thanks Zmeya! I'm getting ready to record, so it's good to know when to be expecting him (worked all night, so mind is not totally here!)

Crossing my fingers and sending good vibes to Kazan!!!

it?
I like his new footwork!

Seems like he's not fully recovered yet.

There are a couple of pictures by Anna Kondakova already available on her site:
http://photo.fsonline.ru/main.php?g2_itemId=12247 http://photo.fsonline.ru/main.php?g2_itemId=12249 http://photo.fsonline.ru/main.php?g2_itemId=12251 http://photo.fsonline.ru/main.php?g2_itemId=12253 http://photo.fsonline.ru/main.php?g2_itemId=12255 There is something wrong with the encoding on the pages (in case you have Russian fonts installed), she knows the problem, but has no time right now to fix it. The pictures themselves are okay.
P.S. - Really weird hair. Andrei needs to cut it, I think. |

As for the LP, Andrei is skating sixth in the first warm-up group.

Sixth in group 1? He's only in seventh after the SP, why isn't he in the second warm-up group? That stinks!
According a press person at FSU (Eisluffan), he left practice a bit early today, but according to Elena he's ok. |
